Peter Briggs
University of Manchester Computer Officer, Bioinformatics Core Facility
Manchester, UK
Software developer supporting a team of informaticians within the Bioinformatics Core Facility (BCF) in the Faculty of Biology Medicine & Health (FBMH) at the University of Manchester. Responsibilities include supporting a number of local Galaxy instances both internally (for local researchers & teaching) and public-facing (the Palfinder microsatellite Galaxy service). As a part-time Galaxy administrator, I make use of Ansible to help with managing these instances; I have also developed a utility (Nebulizer) to help with day-to-day admin tasks, and a number of Galaxy tools (including Trimmomatic) for use in bioinformatic analyses.
